Hollywood Cemetery, Richmond, Virginia

Having discovered some very outdated film (it was Kodak Tri-X and T-Max with a 2002 expiration date.) I decided to take my Leica M6 to Hollywood Cemetery and see what a cemetery looked like on "dead" film. This project is the result.

Hollywood Cemetery is a "garden" cemetery in Richmond, Virginia.  Established in 1849 it is modeled after Mount Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge, Massachusetts, the first garden cemetery in the United States. The remains of two United States Presidents are interred here, John Tyler and James Monroe. It is also the burial place of hundreds of Confederate soldiers and several Confederate generals, including George Pickett and J.E.B. Stuart. For many generations this has been the final resting place of many members of Richmond's prominent families.
